It’s Fall! A time when many of us turn our attention indoors to fluff and buff our interior spaces.   We all love those Home and Garden DIY TV Shows picturing beautiful and creative rooms.  And so you ask:

“WHY NOT JUST DO IT YOURSELF? WHY USE AN INTERIOR DESIGN FIRM?”

Because good design has its rewards.
An interior designer studies years of coursework and training to create unique, cohesive, comfortable spaces. Good interior design is about making your facility FUNCTIONAL as well as BEAUTIFUL.  Quality of care is directly related to the quality of the interior design.

DCS understands that and knows the healthcare environment is complex . We have over 20 years experience personalizing and accommodating the needs of staff, residents and families. So before you start swinging that hammer, give DCS a call so we can help!

  • Use low maintenance, highly cleanable surfaces that are germ resistant and long wearing.
  • Space is always at a premium in most care facilities.
  • Things like decentralized nursing stations and storage can become challenging.  Incorporate storage and streamline wherever possible.
  • Use Furniture upholstered with super durable crypton and vinyl fabrics -- some infused with antimicrobial finishes such as silver ion that inhibit the growth of microbes.
  • Hybrid products such as patient chairs that also serve as recliners help save space.
  • Tables can have built in data
    and
    electrical access with
    underneath storage.
  • Use colors and themes for wayfinding resources.
